Wonderful product! Gave it to my mother for Christmas and she's crazy about it. The 1GB is perfect for a few CDs worth of music and is very easy to load. Her only problem with it is that if it gets cold (like if she left it in the car overnight during cold weather) it needs to warm up before it will turn on. Not a huge deal but something to be aware of in case it happens to you. Don't panic! Just wait for a while.Get more detail about Creative Zen Stone 1 GB MP3 Player (Black).

I purchased this mp3 for its sound quality. I am not dissapointed. Amazing sound! But after only 12 cds I have run out of space! My ipod 4gb holds much more music - is this common for this player? Cowon iAUDIO E2 4 GB Mp3 Player (Black) This instant
I wanted a small player for work and have had a couple Cowon's before.
Pros- Plays all formats with good sound.High Quality
Cons- Buttons are tiny and on the sides. It's almost impossible to change songs or volume without looking at the player.
Power button is next to the skip button and easy to hit accidentally.
Special round usb plug means I cant use someone else's if I'm not at home to transfer or charge.
Im a big fan of Cowon products but this one is over priced and not thought out very well.Get more detail about Cowon iAUDIO E2 4 GB Mp3 Player (Black).

Philips GoGear Muse 16 GB MP3 Video Player with Month of Rhapsody Music and Free Audible Audiobook (Black) Best Quality
The Muse has a very bright, detailed screen and a terrific sound. However, there are two areas of annoyance of which you should be aware prior to purchase.
Firmware issue:
Although the Muse will organize audio clips/tracks for a CD by track number if the file is an .MP3 file, it will default to listing tracks alphabetically by track title if the files are in .WMA format. And that is the track title in the IP3 header, not the file's name. What is stored in the audio file's ID3 header won't affect how the track titles are presented to you in a .WMA album - they'll always be sorted alphabetically. The simplest way around this it to create a playlist for the album with the tracks in the correct order and use the playlist instead of the album play process.
Video/audio Conversion Software (ArcSoft) Issue:
The bundled audio/video download and conversion software has locked default settings into a profile file for the Muse which cannot be edited or overridden. (If this bothers you enough you'll have to purchase the retail version, find a different converter or go without.) In many cases you can just load the video files directly into the Muse using Windows explorer, avoiding the conversion process -- as long as they're recorded at 30 frames per second and the file is in a format that the Muse plays naturally.
The default conversion settings that irked me are:
Screen size. The Muse's screen is 400x240 pixels, very nice for HD and widescreen video material. However, if the video is in a smaller aspect ratio, such as old television and film clips, the conversion software will stretch the video to fill the Muse's screen as much as possible. This distorts the original video and looks bad. There is an option in the conversion software that says "Stretch" and is check-marked. But it cannot be un-check-marked.
File size. When converting video the software tries to convert the source material into the best audio and video quality possible -- even if the source video clip is of poor quality. The result for me, in several cases, was that the resulting video file to be played on the Muse is 2 to 3 times larger than the original file. When you're dealing with mega-megabyte files, this impacts how much video you can store on the player.
File Extension. After ArcSoft conversion, the video file will have a different extension -- i.e.: StarshipGroove.PVI -- which means it is only playable on the Muse and not your computer. However, it turns out that it is still an AVI file, so you just need to rename it -- i.e.: StarshipGroove.AVI -- to play the converted file on your computer. This is just an annoyance and not a problem, per se.
All in all I'm happy with the Muse. I just wish that Philips would update the firmware to handle the WMA problem, and get ArcSoft to, at least, let the user choose when to have the video stretched and when not.Get more detail about Philips GoGear Muse 16 GB MP3 Video Player with Month of Rhapsody Music and Free Audible Audiobook (Black).

Philips SA2925R/37 2 GB Flash Audio Video MP3 Player with Month of Rhapsody Music (Black) Buy Now
For the most part, I really enjoy Philips electronic products; however, I have been somewhat disappointed by the Philips SA2925R/27 2.
First, it freezes consistently, and I find myself very often having to reset the player (which can be annoying when walking down the street). Anytime I quickly change to another song or artist, it often just stops or lags in processing the request.
Secondly, for an MP3 player so small, I dislike having to have an extra USB cable to connect to my computer. Compared to similar sized models, I have found it much more convenient to have the USB made into the player so that it can be charged anywhere there is a computer without having to remember the cable.
Positives: Nice to see the CD/LP cover image when album is playing; 3 "Playlists-on-the-Go" allow you to create while in motion; volume is controlled and not easily turned up or down while riding in a pocket.Get more detail about Philips SA2925R/37 2 GB Flash Audio Video MP3 Player with Month of Rhapsody Music (Black).

Coby MP-C833 128MB MP3 Player Order Now
I bought the 512mb for my daughter. It's big enough (drive wise) for her favorite songs and small enough (compact wise)she can take it with her instead of a portable cd player when we travel. The sound is pretty good and transfer is easy, though a little slower then the other mp3 players that we have.Get more detail about Coby MP-C833 128MB MP3 Player.

Sylvania 2GB Video MP3 Player with Full Color Screen (Purple) Decide Now
My 14 year old daughter bought this with her own money. At first she was thrilled with it, but now she's wishing she'd gotten a different one. If you're thinking of getting this one, you should know that it won't randomly play all your songs. She can only play them in order. If that's not a big deal to you, then it's an alright MP3 player. We just like to play the songs on random shuffle, or whatever it's called; to listen to a variety of songs, and this one won't do that. At first I thought she just didn't know how to do it, but I read the instructions myself, and she was right. In this case, you get what you pay for.
In short, if we had it to do over again, we wouldn't buy this MP3 player.Get more detail about Sylvania 2GB Video MP3 Player with Full Color Screen (Purple).

Apple iPod shuffle 1 GB Purple, Clamshell Package (2nd Generation) Right now
The quality and condition of this iPod was completely misrepresented. The iPod was described as being in good condition, and the exterior has only a few small scratches. However, the on/off switch worked only a few times and then quit entirely. Also, it does not appear to be holding a charge. I spent $55.99 on something worthless, and feel completely ripped off. So, be careful. Get more detail about Apple iPod shuffle 1 GB Purple, Clamshell Package (2nd Generation).

Lowest Price Mach Speed Trio Touch Screen 8GB MP3 and MP4 Video Player (Black)
Our family has owned 5 iPods and a Zune. We now are all switching to Mach Speeds. It is small, light, inexpensive, and not tied to iTunes or another cumbersome interface. And you can delete songs on the player, while you are out listening to them, instead of having to wait to get home and do a delete and resynch. You can also record from the FM tuner. Very convenient. Read the manual and play with the features to get the most out of it. Video quality it ok, but who watches full length movies on a 3" screen anyway? It's still great for sharing videos with friends.Get more detail about Mach Speed Trio Touch Screen 8GB MP3 and MP4 Video Player (Black).

Low Price Sylvania Video MP3 Player with 2.8-Inch Color Touch Screen (Black)
I bought this as a gift for my daughter. She wanted an ipod touch like her brother but I didnt feel she was quite old enough to get one that expensive yet so I settled on this one. I wanted to charge it and load her music on for her before I gave it to her. As soon as I got the battery charged I knew I was in trouble. The touch screen is awful and I had to repeatedly hit the button over and over before it would take me to where I wanted to go. When it finally did go to the screen I wanted it would freeze up and go no further. The "manual" if thats what you want to call it, was so small that I had to get out a magnifying glass to read it and it was no help whatsoever. I rarely leave reviews but this was such a waste of money that I felt the need to share with others.Get more detail about Sylvania Video MP3 Player with 2.8-Inch Color Touch Screen (Black).

Discount Philips GoGear 8 GB Aria MP3 Video Player with 2-Inch Color Screen
This mp3 player is nice and small and portable, seems to have good sound as well. Don't know yet about the battery life. BUT, the controls are extremely difficult to operate and not even remotely intuitive. They are HORRIBLE. Don't waste your money on this one, buy one with easier controls.Get more detail about Philips GoGear 8 GB Aria MP3 Video Player with 2-Inch Color Screen.

Cheap Creative MuVo V100 1 GB MP3 Player (White)
it doesn't have all of the fancy bells and whistles like color display or navigation wheel and such. But this little guy did the job for me just fine. it is basically a memory stick with a capbility to play music. no need to instal any software like iTunes. i've seen plenty of other guys struggling with their itunes or when they were trying to share files. Yes, the transfer could be a bit faster but i don't transfer files everyday so doesn't bother me much. best of all, it survived thru my deployment thru 140 degrees weather with dust storms, sand storms, down pours, stepped on, sat on, being driven over by a humvee, etc to my below freezing NY weather back home. It's been 2 years of absolute abuse and still kicking strong. The only thing i didn't like was that the max volume is not that loud. i had to buy a headphone with its own volume control so i could increase the volume twice. and another thing i just rememebered, it doens't come with any clips or arm band accessory. but because the unit is so small and light, i worked round by either hollding it in my hand (if running) or wearing gym pants that have pockets (if lifting weights). overall, this device has never let me down no matter what and i would continue to purchase this model as long as Creative will continue to manufacture it.Get more detail about Creative MuVo V100 1 GB MP3 Player (White).

Buying jWIN 2 GB MP3 Player with USB Plug
This is my first MP3 player, so I don't have anything to compare it to. Not a lot of flash and sizzle compared to iPods
with bigger memory, larger LCD screens, and longer battery life. But the price can't be beat. It's very light and pocketable
(and I got it for free).
It does a good job. Music quality is fine for my ears. It holds enough songs. The controls are fairly intuitive.
The mini-CD ROM that comes with it is rather sparse on detail, but it was enough to figure out the basic functions in a few minutes.
I'm using rechargeable NiMH batteries, which are probably good for 7-8 hours; alkalines would last longer I figure, but who needs the
expense. I'm content popping in another rechargeable in a second and being good to go.
I'd like 4 gigs, and a little more flexibility in how folders are accessed. But for the price it's a good little machine.
