Samsung P3 Palm Theatre Plus 16 GB MP3 Player (Black) Top Quality

Allow me to clear things up. The P3 is an EXCELLENT player. In my opinion, the only competition out for it would be the zune HD and cowon s9. soundwise the s9 and p3 are even but both better than the zune.

You'll notice alot of people complaining about the included software (emodio) crashing and not working well. though this is true, there is very little sense in opening up a program and creating a library and "syncing" when all you really had to do was drag and drop. its not like you have to convert anything on the p3, why use fancy software thats glitchy? bottomline, ditch emodio and all other programs to be honest. just drag and drop.

the layout is customizable to your liking. few owners realize that you can easily make your layout from scratch with your own icons and fonts and things. its all explained on anythingbutipod[dot]com forums.

many complain about a laggy or insensitive touchscreen. those people are behind. the touchscreen issue was fixed months and months ago. they've release multiple firmware upgrades (contrary to everyone claiming theres no support for the p3) also available on the p3 forums of abi.

all in all the player turned out to be well rounded. an updated no frills breakdown would be

PROS:
1) sound quality
2) build quality
3) customizable themes
4) ridiculous amount of file extension support (converting isnt necessary)
5) DRAG AND DROP!
6) cheapest top tier player out
7) screen quality
8) vast amount of online support @ anythingbutipod
9) built in speaker

CONS:
1) lack of wifi (for some this is an issue)
2) EMODIO IS SPAWN OF SATAN!
3) not widely available. Finding in a local store is difficult
4) stock headphones are tolerable but not great.Get more detail about Samsung P3 Palm Theatre Plus 16 GB MP3 Player (Black).

Apple iPod nano 8 GB Purple (4th Generation) [Previous Model] This instant

Small, lightweight, great battery life, great sound quality. Most of all, you can't beat Itunes right now for managing music, podcasts, ITunes University, audiobooks, etc, which is the reason I'm using an IPOD. For some (dumb) reason Apple decided to add a camera in the 5th generation model, unfortunate since I couldn't bring it to work! 4th generation is the optimal model in this line for that reason. My only complaint: the clickwheel, which I realize is trendy but it has at least two inconveniences: 1) it is hard to make small volume adjustments, especially when it's in your pocket, and 2) it is hard to rewind just a little bit (like if you miss part of an audiobook) -- if you don't hit just right, you rewind the whole thing. This is where I think other mp3 players (like sony's) have an advantage from a 'practical' point of view -- but this requires more 'buttons'-- something apple is adverse to so they often choose fashion over functionality, unfortunately.Get more detail about Apple iPod nano 8 GB Purple (4th Generation) [Previous Model].

8 GB Video MP3/MP4 Player with 2.8-inch TFT Touchscreen Immediately

I ordered this through Amazon, the only way I would feel safe for something like this. It arrived in two business days as promised via the Amazon prime two day shipping.

My first impression was that this is smaller than I thought. The touchable screen works without needing the included stylus if you are careful and make use of the +, M and - keys at the bottom. There is no place to store or attach the stylus though.

Connecting it to my Vista x64 desktop did nothing. No drive showed up. The Windows tried to install the driver but was not successful. No matter what I did, it never worked under 64-bit Windows. Connecting it to a 32-bit Windows XP or Windows 7 worked perfectly. It was recognized by Windows as two removable drives, one for the internal 8Gb memory and another for the miniSD card slot. Without the miniSD card, the second drive was not accessible.

Transferring music to it was pretty straighforward. Just drag and drop the files to the first removable drive. The transfer speed seemed decent.

Since I bought this player to play music, the quality of the video display did not bother me as much. But I would not want to use this player for video.

For $50, I would say it is not bad. The music interface did not show the album art like it did with my Garmin Nuvi or my LG Chocolate 3.

Before you buy it, make sure you have a computer running the 32-bit Windows (XP, Vista or 7). Otherwise, you may have to bother your friends in order to load the music or video.

Apple iPod touch 16 GB (1st Generation) OLD MODEL Best Quality

The iTouch is a great device, as long as you understand that it has the Apple limitations.

Video, sound and control are virtually great. It's really good for reading books, surfing the web and watching movies.

My main gripe is that it won't play all available sound/video formats and the fact that safari lacks a "Search" option for searching text within the page you're currently on.

As a side note: ever since installing OS 3.x the device has started suffering frm slowdowns, so be wary of that and only install the OS -which isn't free- if you must.Get more detail about Apple iPod touch 16 GB (1st Generation) OLD MODEL.

iriver SPINN 8 GB Video MP3 Player (Silver) Get it now!

This is a nice product with decent features, good sound, etc. However, ours is defective and iriver has refused to fix it.

When the battery on the SPINN runs dow, the date resets to sometime in 2005. Not a huge problem in and of itself, but it has the side effect of confusing Rhapsody, so that none of the licensed content will play. It was very difficult to figure out how to fix this problem: relicensing certainly didnt help. nor did formatting from windows or Rhapsody. iriver support happily blamed Rhapsody for this problem and was no help. Eventually I figured out how to use the SPINN reformat capability (which I found is a VERY unintuitive place) to format the drive. A couple hours later, after all the songs were reloaded, we were good to go - for a few days, when it happened again.

I contacted iriver, who admitted that this was not normal operation, but explained that if I charged it enough I could live with it. I asked to have the SPINN repaired, and after verifying that I was under warrantee, they sent me an RMA. I mailed the SPINN in, waited two weeks, and got it back with a note that they had changed the settings to change the discharge rate! When the battery dies - and it has - I still need to reformat the SPINN.

Two weeks later, iriver has yet to answer any of three emails I have sent them asking them to honor their warrantee.

Stay away!!!Get more detail about iriver SPINN 8 GB Video MP3 Player (Silver).

Shop For Apple iPod touch 8 GB (3rd Generation) NEWEST MODEL

The 32 GB (3rd gen) iPod touch is just fantastic compared to my old 8 GB 1st gen iPod touch that still works-though with its limitations. The speed of this new one is so many times faster than the old one, now wi-fi web surfing is very usable with quick page loads within a few seconds. Other internet apps also load data and screens almost immediately. This alone makes me wish I upgraded sooner. But the new features go way beyond speed...32 GB memory ample for much more music, videos, pictures, apps. Very useful built-in speaker (wish it was louder sometimes), and the new earbuds and mic capability for voice, recording and skype calls. The included apple earbuds have fairly weak bass response, putting on foam earbud covers helps a lot with the bass. My rating is 4.5 stars--Hoping Apple adds Flash support, doubles the memory, and camera/video capability in the next generation of the iPod touch. Low Price SanDisk(R) Sansa(R) Clip+ 8GB MP3 Player (Black)

I have owned the sansa clip + for about 3 months and i love it. It is easy to use, very small and portable, and has amazing sound quality. It also costs much less than an ipod or zune. This player might not do everything an ipod or zune does but all I wanted was a quality mp3 player that was small and light and had good sound quality. The sansa also has a clip on the back that is great as you can just clip it to your shirt or whatever you want. Also what i like about the sansa is you don't need any specific software like itunes to rip and sync the mp3's to the player. You can just use window media and drag and drop the mp3's to the sansa.I bought the 8 gb player but it has a slot for micro sd cards and sansa makes a 16 gb card so you could have a 24 gb player for around $100.If you are looking for a mp3 player that sounds great, is small and very portable, easy to use, and don't need all the options of other more expensive players this player will not let you down.
