This is my second ZEN player. The first was begged from me by my (jealous!) son! His didn't have as many features as the ZEN. It has a great, sharp video display, an FM receiver that really performs, and plenty of audio and display trims to make it yours. Oh, and of course, IT PLAYS AUDIO FILES! Ok, it doesn't play ITUNES files directly, "but I have ways to make it play". Like some others shared in other forums, it can lock up. I've only experienced it twice, once on the "old" player and once on the "new". I wish Creative would make the recovery software more easily found on their web site, but it's there. I found it on forum boards. The only other issue that I have is a noticably lower output. If you feed an external amplifier, your volume will have to rise. If you are an earbud listener, PERFECT! Flash memory doesn't mind jolting from jogging. Great for mass transit! Yup, I have sevaral MP3 players, including the ZUNE and other major brands--but no Ipod. I would buy another and recommend the ZEN to anyone. Get more detail about Creative Zen 2 GB Portable Media Player (Black).

Ematic 2GB Color MP3 Video Player with 1.5-Inch screen, FM Radio and Voice Recording (Pink) Decide Now
I bought this item for my 8 year old for christmas. She absolutely loves it. The color pink is fabulous. My daughter wanted an ipod in pink but i bought her this instead and she can't put it down. . The voice recording feature is also something that gets used all the time. I think this mp3 player has the most features of all the ones I looked at. Would absolutely by this item again if I had to choose again.Get more detail about Ematic 2GB Color MP3 Video Player with 1.5-Inch screen, FM Radio and Voice Recording (Pink).

Sony Walkman S-540 Series 8 GB Video MP3 Player (Red) Right now
I was looking for an MP3 player to listen to audiobooks from NetLibrary. This player does not have a bookmark feature, but you can use "pause" to stop the book. When you return the player starts at the same point. Screen is large enough to see. Controls are easy to understand and use. Other features -- voice recording, built-in speaker, photos and video -- all make this a great player to have!! Get more detail about Sony Walkman S-540 Series 8 GB Video MP3 Player (Red).

Lowest Price Archos 7 320 GB Internet Media Tablet
Package is excellent, fit and finish is superb.
Pricing on Amazon was very attractive,
Device functionality is just about okay.
The touchscreen calibration was an issue, took lot of effort to get it right, and in process the device got accidental factory reset ,loosing all the configuration. It took 2 days for me to restore it back to normal, though the telephonic support of archos was very satisfactory.
Still , the Widgets not working after lot of tweaking,
Not much good apps available,no option of Office/editing suite,
cannot play the MP4 directly, needs an additional encoder at extra cost.
no native options for video conversions,
Ripped DVD resolution is just about okay, nothing extra ordinary.
Overall an average featured tablet ,, must check for other options ,while i write this review the IPAD is already released, so i strongly feel the ARCHOS worth skip over IPAD.Get more detail about Archos 7 320 GB Internet Media Tablet.

Low Price SanDisk Sansa Connect 4GB USB 2.0 MP4/MP3 w/2.2" LCD (Black)

where to start... the wifi function can be reinstated with a firmware upgrade/downgrade (im not sure which but its easy and the instructions are all over google).. but the yahoo radio isnt worth it in my opinion. it is a novel feature though.... you can also get video on it with the firmware change.
the controls and user interface are well designed, the circle spins to change menu choices, and if you push it there are 4 buttons on the usual sides of the circle (top is home or menu, bottom is pause/play, left and right are just that or ff rw ect...), it is pretty easy to use. you can get all the menu options anywhere by pressing up. there is a dedicated volume on the upper left side. power switch on top, touch it once for sleep mode, hold it for power off. it works well.
the sound quality is very good, it has an excellent flat eq and the other eq options actually cut the frequencies instead of boosting them. this works out to a clean powerful sound without distortion with all the eq's. i was kinda bummed at first that there was no custom eq, but the pre installed ones are good enough that it doesnt bother me anymore.
the included earbuds are actually pretty decent, but replacing them with higher quality earbuds bumps up the sound quality tremendously.(im really picky about sound quality too) I listen to all kinds of music, most everything sounds good on this.
the video quality is pretty decent, not the greatest, but probably better than you expect it to be.
battery life is nothing to write home about, its not horrible, but its not great
the screen, at its highest setting, is very bright, you can adjust it from 5% to 100% by 5% increments.
it has a micro sd card slot which with firmware changes can support up to 12 gb, ive heard rumors of 16, im sure that will happen eventually. micro sd isnt that expensive so you can bump up the storage on this pretty cheaply. It comes with 4 gigs, with the possibility of up to 16 or 20 gigs.
it has a built in speaker which is LOUD. really LOUD. the speaker is awesome.
the player itself is kinda big, about 2/3 the size of a pack smokes (shorts not 100's)..
all in all considering that you can get one of these things for 30 to 40 dollars, this is a great alternative to the other players in this price range. it originally cost $249...
the sansa connect is amazingly good if you consider its current price range.
so if your looking at a clip or another player in the 30 to 45 dollar price range consider the connect.
decent video, wi fi yahoo radio, good sound quality, ok battery, micro sd card slot expandable to 16 gigs (at least)...Get more detail about SanDisk Sansa Connect 4GB USB 2.0 MP4/MP3 w/2.2" LCD (Black).

Save Apple iPod nano 8 GB Blue (4th Generation) [Previous Model]
Small, lightweight, great battery life, great sound quality. Most of all, you can't beat Itunes right now for managing music, podcasts, ITunes University, audiobooks, etc, which is the reason I'm using an IPOD. For some (dumb) reason Apple decided to add a camera in the 5th generation model, unfortunate since I couldn't bring it to work! 4th generation is the optimal model in this line for that reason. My only complaint: the clickwheel, which I realize is trendy but it has at least two inconveniences: 1) it is hard to make small volume adjustments, especially when it's in your pocket, and 2) it is hard to rewind just a little bit (like if you miss part of an audiobook) -- if you don't hit just right, you rewind the whole thing. This is where I think other mp3 players (like sony's) have an advantage from a 'practical' point of view -- but this requires more 'buttons'-- something apple is adverse to so they often choose fashion over functionality, unfortunately.Get more detail about Apple iPod nano 8 GB Blue (4th Generation) [Previous Model].

Discount Sony 1 GB Walkman MP3 Player (Pink)
I own a Ipod classic, nano, shuffle, sony bean player and now this walkman. After switching from sony players to apple products, i always missed the ease of dragging dropping files and using the player like a USB drive. Itunes slows down my PC and hate to wait for 30 seconds while it launches. I loved my Nano, thats why i bought a shuffle for running, but shuffle lacks of display and the pain of Itunes made me switch back to sony players for running.
This player is great, compact and solid. Easy to transfer files just by drag n drop, is a great flash drive to hold any kind of files. Sound quality is great and is in par with the shuffle. Love the Bass button that I can turn on or off depending on the type of song.
This cannot replace a Ipod nano but is way better replecement to Ipod shuffle.Get more detail about Sony 1 GB Walkman MP3 Player (Pink).

Cheapest SanDisk Sansa e260 4 GB MP3 Player with MicroSD Expansion Slot (Black
I have had this mp3 player for two years. Two years without problems and thousands of hours of enjoyable music listening. No, it is not the smallest, lightest mp3 out there, but it is reasonably priced, sturdy, user friendly, has a changeable battery (haven't had to do that yet), and storage space is virtually unlimited with the micro sd cards. If you are looking for a good mp3 player, consider this one. The device has been around for awhile and has proved its value.Get more detail about SanDisk Sansa e260 4 GB MP3 Player with MicroSD Expansion Slot (Black.

Cheap Apple iPod nano 8 GB Silver (3rd Generation) OLD MODEL
I got an Ipod in December 2007 after my old Zen Neon mp3 player sadly broke.
Just a 4Gig Ipod is fine by me. This is a great choice of Mp3 player for listening to music anywhere you want! The sound quality is great and it's easy to use Itunes to put your songs on to your Ipod.
Appearance - 5/5 - sleak & very nice, also easy to handle and soft on the hands.
Ease of Use - 5/5 - It's simple to press & play songs and to choose your other features it's basically a big bright looking screen with a button and scroll wheel to scroll through your songs.
Battery Life - 3/5 - Battery Life doesn't last very long if you're using your Ipod with the brightness setting on high, but if you have the brightness setting on the lowest setting the battery power will last a long time [The brightness affects your battery life, if you have it on and charge it all night the Ipod runs out of battery within 45 minutes!]
Capacity - 5/5 - 4Gigabytes isn't bad if you want to use your Ipod as a music player.
Videos & other stuff will take up more space. I just like my Ipod as a music player.
Display - 5/5 - The Ipod Nano is big enough to see your song information & stuff on the screen
Customer Support - 5/5 - Customer support on the Apple website is very useful you can either contact them directly or use the forums, I don't suggest using the forums since no one replies but it's better to contact Apple Support directly on their email they are very friendly & they reply quickly.
Features - 5/5 - The Ipod has a wide range of features you don't just have to put music on it you can also put videos on it & watch movies on it, play games on it and more!
Portabillity - 5/5 - the best thing about the Ipod is the portabillity, you can take this ipod wherever you go!
Good Price - 5/5 - The Ipod is reasonably priced and it's a good affordable Media Player. I recommend this item!Get more detail about Apple iPod nano 8 GB Silver (3rd Generation) OLD MODEL.

Buying Samsung P3 Palm Theatre Plus 8 GB MP3 Player (Black)
The P3 is really a great player. For some reason, many people compare it to the iPod Touch, but that doesn't make much sense, considering it's priced to compete better with the iPod NANO.
The P3's screen is made of glass... this means, it is really hard to scratch it, unlike that odd plastic material used in most touchscreen players. The touchscreen itself will seem a bit sticky at first, but after a week or so of having it, you will barely notice this at all. The touchscreen is in most cases very responsive, though the player's UI is notorious for lagging at times. This, though, is something you can easily get used to. There are some silly little widgets, some are handy such as a clock and a calendar, but most seem to be designed for a young child. The background is customizable with images 272x480 pixels for a perfect fit. Also, when you first begin using it, you may notice the battery draining quickly, as the first of three bars will disappear quickly. The meter only stays at full when the battery is very full, i can use this for about 4 days, listening about 2-3 hours a day before i need to charge it.
The screen has some sort of special detection for touch, i believe it's called capacitive sensing, which only responds if it detects a conductor, in other words, the human body. I'm sure it also works with some random special material as well, but for the purposes of the average person, this will only respond to a human body, so you don't have to worry about anything else activating the touchscreen. You may still want to use the Hold button though, as there are volume and a power button on the top of the player.
The screen on this player can play videos at up to 800x600 pixels, which is pretty good for a player of this price. It's no Zune HD, but it sure does look good on the 3 inch screen.
The player body is made of some plastic, but mostly metal. I have heard of these things surviving all kinds of punishment, even have 45 pound weights dropped on them in the gym. The touchscreen and everything still worked in that case, the only problem were cracks and the player being slightly bent of course.
The P3 has all the typical features of a Samsung player, the DSNe, bluetooth, etc. etc. What is really surprising is its support for .flv files, and a flash player for .swf files. Yes, this means you can play flash games and watch flash movies on your P3. It can also be used to pair with a phone as a hands free device via bluetooth.
The only thing i would ever really worry about would be the fact that you can see directly inside of the player, as in you can see all the microchips and whatnot inside of it through the headphone jack. This could lead to dust getting in there, but this is easily solved by either just blowing it or or just leaving headphones in all the time.
In short, this player is really fantastic for 150$, which, again, is the same price as an Nano. You get so much more for almost the same price, it makes me wonder why anyone would ever buy a Nano.Get more detail about Samsung P3 Palm Theatre Plus 8 GB MP3 Player (Black).

Buy Apple 80 GB iPod AAC/MP3 Video Player Black (5.5 Generation)
Okay, so you're thinking of buying an iPod. You've seen the iPod Touch and you've been blown away. Who wouldn't be? It's a great little gizmo. You can do a lot with it, surf the web, play Tetris, learn Japanese, do e-mail, play music and so much more, but if you're like me and have more music than you can shake a stick and you want to carry it with you wherever you go, then the iPod Touch just might not cut the mustard, storage wise.
If it's just music or videos you want an iPod for. Or if you have an iPhone and you need a second device to carry around your music, then I'd heartedly recommend a 5th Gen iPod. Read on and see why.
I was cruising Amazon, checking out small hard drives, as I wanted to carry all my music around with me. I somehow wound up the page for the Apricorn Bio Hard Drive, a beautiful little beauty, to be sure, but I don't really need to protect my music from prying eyes, or ears for that matter. However, I clicked on over to their website and I found something much better than an external drive. I found their upgrade kit for the 5th Generation iPods and I knew it was exactly what I was looking for.
If you've got either the 5th Generation 30GB, the 60GB or the 80GB you are in luck, because not only do you have one great machine, but you can make it outstanding. Apple's current iPod Classic carries 160GB of storage, with the upgrade from Apricorn you can turn your 5th Gen 30GB iPod into a 120GB beauty and Apricorn throws in a new 580mAH battery with the hard drive along with all the direction and the tools you'll need to do the job yourself. Yeah, you don't have to send your machine to Apple to replace that battery. It's not that hard.
But what if you've got a 5th Gen 60 or 80GB iPod. Well for over half a C note less than what a new iPod Classic costs, you can upgrade the iPod you have with 240GB of storage, yeah, 240 gigs, that's a lot of music. And you get a new battery with this upgrade, too. So, how hard is the upgrade to do. It took me twenty minutes, it's easier than you'd think. Once finished, hook the iPod up to you're computer and let iTunes do it's magic and you're good to go.
The 5th Gen iPod is a solid music player even without upgrading. It's easy enough to sink it with iTunes and change the music on it. I wouldn't hesitate recommending it to anyone, but if you want more, well you can have it.Get more detail about Apple 80 GB iPod AAC/MP3 Video Player Black (5.5 Generation).

Shop For ibiza Rhapsody HHH1A-2G Trainer Sport MP3 Player with Pedometer and Heart-Rate Monitor
This was the perfect mp3 player for my husband who exercises and runs quite a bit. The size is quite small. The programs that come along with it that track your mileage and heart-rate were a great addition as well. The only problem we had was that it stated it came with an arm band and we did not get one. iriver SPINN 4 GB Video MP3 Player (Silver) Review
using a netbook with no dvd drive, I couldn't used the mini-cd that came with
it to install the necessary software (no problem until this point)
downloading iriver plus3 (comparable to ipod's itunes) and firmware was a bit confusing, but it was still alright
btw you can just drag and drop like a usb drive
but, i didn't understand the ums mode and mtp mode at first,
which got me very frustrated along with other things that
I was thinking whether I should return it,
however once I got it all figured out,
I am actually quite satisfied with how cool this device actually is,
especially for the price at 70 bucks,
coming from korea where this was made,
it was easier for me to get new themes at a users forum at a korean website
(themes solved the issue of small album arts and small play-forward etc buttons)
all in all, i am satisfied,
but I am pretty sure that many might find the process I went through
a very frustrating oneGet more detail about iriver SPINN 4 GB Video MP3 Player (Silver).
