Here is couple of problems i noticed:
1- Battery shows half full while it shutdown automatically after some minutes.
2- Sound quality?!? My 6 years old Panasonic mp3 player has double sound quality compare to this one!!!
3- Features works! OH yeahhhh.... Touch screen! OH yeahhh........, BUT you have to press the screen like there is no tomorrow if you want to use an option. ( It could work better with regular old school buttons.)

But we had absolutely no idea if this was going to suit us or, indeed, if we could make it work the way we thought it should at all.

Ipod arrived, used and in good condition. We had a little difficulty figuring out how to fully charge then reformat, then set it up. Sure enough it is something a twelve year old could have whipped in ten minutes and it took us two days, but we won in the end. Over a year later, we are loving it, use it regularly, and feel it worked out fine.

We would have done well to have bought a new one or a reconditioned one with fresh battery. The 20gb is more than enough memory, we're only using less than 8 gigabytes. But the battery is good for about part of one day then we recharge it. We've heard the new ones have much better batteries. But it recharges easily, does what we thought it would, and has been absolutely no problem whatsoever since we figured it out. Coming up on 2 years and it's still working fine although i don't have a lot of time on it,40 or 50 hours maybe. Bought the Koss Porta Pros and Sennheiser ear buds, along with the Audio Technica noise canceling headphones. The Porta Pros work the best. The key drawback of this MP3 player is that it is very inconvenient to operate. The screen is tiny and has fairly low contrast (black graphics on liquid crystals display illuminated with blue light). And yet, despite the tiny size, the manufacturer squeezed up to two rows of icons and text into it, which made some symbols very hard to read. The player is reasonably small, a little under 4" long (98 mm), 1.25" wide (30 mm) and 3/4" thick (20 mm). It is certainly not the smallest player on the market, but it would still fit almost anywhere.

The player has a built-in FM radio and a voice recorder, but I have tried to use them.

The is one huge advantage of this player over almost all other ones - and that is that it runs from an AAA battery. Not only the battery life is huge (I was able to run it probably for 20-25 hours before it ran out), but it is also very easy to swap the battery. I find it very advantageous on long transcontinental flights. Those of us who occasionally have to travel long distances will definitely appreciate this feature which almost all other player lack.

First off, I want to emphasize that although I'm giving this product 1 star, Amazon deserves a lot of credit for their excellent refund service, which was quick and easy.

This player uses the same ACTION chipset that those Chinese-made imitation iPods you can buy on eBay do. The difference is basically the casing and the fact that you can buy those for $[...] less. Good luck returning them back to China, though, which is why I went with Amazon. Also, most of the imitation iPods have a memory hack that creates the impression of the player having twice as much RAM as it actually does. This CENTON does not have that issue. It is a true 2 GB player.

I had just just such an ACTION chipset imitation iPod for nearly two years; it had the same operating system and user interface as this CENTON. That player served me well for nearly two years of rough use and continued working perfectly before I lost it on a bus. This CENTON on the other hand worked beautifully for two days, then bright lines started appearing on screen. These lines became worse and were permanent, making the screen, and player, unusable.

Maybe this was the one that slipped through quality control, and is just a fluke, but I still wouldn't recommend buying one after my experience.

Also, the player sent did not match the picture in the Amazon ad. The one I got had several silver buttons on the front.
