Apple iPod nano 16 GB Silver (4th Generation) [Previous Model] Top Quality

Small, lightweight, great battery life, great sound quality. Most of all, you can't beat Itunes right now for managing music, podcasts, ITunes University, audiobooks, etc, which is the reason I'm using an IPOD. For some (dumb) reason Apple decided to add a camera in the 5th generation model, unfortunate since I couldn't bring it to work! 4th generation is the optimal model in this line for that reason. My only complaint: the clickwheel, which I realize is trendy but it has at least two inconveniences: 1) it is hard to make small volume adjustments, especially when it's in your pocket, and 2) it is hard to rewind just a little bit (like if you miss part of an audiobook) -- if you don't hit just right, you rewind the whole thing. This is where I think other mp3 players (like sony's) have an advantage from a 'practical' point of view -- but this requires more 'buttons'-- something apple is adverse to so they often choose fashion over functionality, unfortunately.Get more detail about Apple iPod nano 16 GB Silver (4th Generation) [Previous Model].

SanDisk Sansa View 16 GB Video MP3 Player (Black) Review

Bought the unit new...16G black. It would play for a while then lock up. Wheel and buttons become inoperative. Eventually it would unlock only to lock again. Called support and was told to upgrade fw from version 1.3 to 1.3. In other words to reinstall the same version fw. No change in operation. Called again and was asked to format drive. No change in operation. Called again and finally got an RMA number and sent the unit back. Received a replacement which was fw version 1.1. It had scratches on the back and scratches on the wheel. It was used! Upgraded the fw to 1.3. Could have accepted the scratches but the same symptoms of locking up when playing existed. Called support again and was told to help expedite I should send pictures of the device. Huh? Pictures? The support is pathetic and insulting. I have no idea how pictures help resolve my problem. The unit looks great, sounds great but I would not buy one. Nor will I put up with the faults of this one. It's a $100 negative experience but valuable insight into Sandisk quality and support. Buy another brand people.Get more detail about SanDisk Sansa View 16 GB Video MP3 Player (Black).

Shop For Sony Walkman E-340 Series 8 GB Video MP3 Player (Red)

I bought this for my son but wish I had bought two! I have an ipod and never use it b/c I hate messing with i tunes. This device is just plug and play REALLY nothing extra you have to do, nothing u have to down load. You just drag your music to it from your play list on window media player. I love the sound quality, and the FM radio works very well we never have any trouble getting it to pick up stations and we live in the country. and did I say how much less it cost than the i pod.Get more detail about Sony Walkman E-340 Series 8 GB Video MP3 Player (Red).

Order SanDisk Sansa Fuze 4 GB Video MP3 Player (Red)

Cons:
* Incompatible with Windows XP. When connected a WinXP system you'll get error bubbles telling you of a failure of a mass storage device and that an unsupported device was installed. Prior Sansa devices managed to be truly plug-n-play compatible with XP, so why not this one? I know XP is old, but people still have it due to Vista being its replacement.

* Uses a nonstandard input jack that requires a special USB cable. If one end of the cable is a full-size USB cable then there's no reason the other side can't be a standard mini-USB port. Forcing users to use propreitary cables like guarantees the user will either lose the cable or will try to connect it to a computer when the cable is not available.

* Sandisk provides poor customer support. The tech on the other end of my online chat ended the conversation after about 4 minutes of silence on my part because an important call came through. As I was typing a message to wait a second he killed the connection. I'm sure he was monitoring multiple windows, so why'd he have to shut me down? After that I called support but I didn't have the time to go through support. They offered to call back at a certain time but they did not call.

* The buttons and headphone jack aren't positioned well when using the MP3 player while jogging. Some buttons are too easy to hit accidently, the headphone jack is in a bad spot.

* Like all Sandisk MP3 players, it turns on and plays music automatically when connected to a PC. Chances are if I'm connecting it to a PC I either want to charge the battery or change its contents: NOT listen to it!

Pros:
* Good sound quality

* Reverse shuffle memory. This is possibly the first device I've ever owned that keeps track of the songs it has played when in Randon/Shuffle mode. Most devices are lazy and will send you to a random track when hitting reverse, but the Fuze will actually send you to the previous track after clicking this button. I like this a lot.

* Large bright screen that shows plenty of information

* Easy to use menu (each generation of Sandisk MP3 players is always accompanied with improvements in this system)

* It would be a great MP3 player for users running computers with Windows Vista (and possibly Win7) and who don't need to contact support.

Where To Buy Apple iPod shuffle 4 GB Blue (4th Generation) NEWEST MODEL

Works pretty well, at first I didn't know why I couldn't get it to play but it was because the battery was not fully charged. Holds the charge for a day or two - but it's pretty easy to recharge at office desk during the day. For a simple MP3 player that I can use in the car (I brought a $5 wire to connect to car system) it works well. Some of the songs sounds quieter than others and I don't know if that has to do with the MP3 Player or the MP3 file. Pretty tiny so I reco keeping it in something bigger so you don't drop/lose it. Tiny on-off button - more girl friendly. Get more detail about Apple iPod shuffle 4 GB Blue (4th Generation) NEWEST MODEL.

Purchase Sony Walkman NWZS545RED 16 GB Video MP3 Player (Red)

I debated whether to get the Sony Walkman or the Apple iPod for my music collection - yes, I know that I'm very late to the game, but I'm not an early adapter and I like the pricing on products when I wait until they become "old fashioned"; this is my first mp3 player. I'm not averse to technology, but I don't like to pay for the privilege of buying in early. Without a doubt, this device fits the bill for me. With 16 Gigabytes of storage for music, I've put my entire 400 CD collection on it - classical and rock. The sound is excellent - and I've listened to my share of stereo, surround sound and speaker systems. I didn't particularly like the ear buds that came with the unit, so I purchased a separate set of Sony buds (Sony MDR-EX56LP/BLK EX Style Headphones - Hybrid Silicone Type Earbuds with adjustable ear inserts.

The Walkman unit is quite small and light, but it has a sturdy feel to it. I've dropped it several times from the desk to the carpet below - not that I'm a klutz, but the USB connector cord is really too short to allow the unit to sit on the desk comfortably and connect to the computer under my desk - not a big deal, but somewhat negative.

The Walkman uses Microsoft Media Player 11 and it also has some type of management software that is downloadable from the player to the PC. I'm not a master of this software, and I've made the mistake of deleting files from Windows Explorer on the Walkman and that really hosed up the device. The directions tell the user to never do this, but hey, what good are directions until after you've screwed up? But it is very easy to format the Walkman and start over. Windows Media Player makes it easy to "Synch Up" the unit and in a couple of key strokes and a couple of hours of synching, I was up and running again. I will say that I'm not an expert in Windows Media Player. I would like to automatically synch up, but there are songs and albums that I would like to exempt from that synching application, but I can't find a way to do it - anyone out there that understands how to do this, let me know.

Trying to find the album or artist is a little slow as you cannot enter a letter to jump to the song or artist. However, it is convenient enough with the letters of the indexing showing on the top of the screen, you can quickly scroll through the alphabet.

I am extremely pleased with this unit and at just under $100, it was far less expensive than the newer 16GB iPods. I have not used this unit for anything other than music and do not plan to, so it is exactly what I needed.

Cheap Creative Labs Zen MX 16 GB MP3 Player (Black)

this is cool, it's a little different than the original zen. to turn the power on and off you press a button on the surface, instead of the switch on the side. also it has a locked mode, which turns off the screen, instead of just dimming it. when you plug it into your computer, two drives show up, the zen drive and the sdhc memory slot drive. when you put video on it, you still have to convert them, but instead of the simple converter on the old one, there's a whole set up you install which adds files to it's library and then you choose which ones to put on the player. i tried converting some videos on the old converter and putting them on this player, but they didn't work, but this new system worked. just add them to the player and they automatically start converting. i like the zen...i wish they'd make the drives even bigger.Get more detail about Creative Labs Zen MX 16 GB MP3 Player (Black).

Cheapest Archos 7 160 GB Internet Media Tablet

Package is excellent, fit and finish is superb.
Pricing on Amazon was very attractive,

Device functionality is just about okay.
The touchscreen calibration was an issue, took lot of effort to get it right, and in process the device got accidental factory reset ,loosing all the configuration. It took 2 days for me to restore it back to normal, though the telephonic support of archos was very satisfactory.
Still , the Widgets not working after lot of tweaking,

Not much good apps available,no option of Office/editing suite,

cannot play the MP4 directly, needs an additional encoder at extra cost.
no native options for video conversions,
Ripped DVD resolution is just about okay, nothing extra ordinary.

Overall an average featured tablet ,, must check for other options ,while i write this review the IPAD is already released, so i strongly feel the ARCHOS worth skip over IPAD.Get more detail about Archos 7 160 GB Internet Media Tablet.

Lowest Price Sandisk Sansa Clip 8GB MP3 Player (Black)

If all you want is a music/podcast player, this is the real deal. It is amazingly easy to navigate through the content and the sound is phenomenal for the size. I've never been into the Apple products, so I can't compare this to any of those, but I've had a Creative Zen player that was nice but big and clunky, and it only took one tumble from my pocket in the gym to break it. Then I got a Sansa player--I forget which type-that was good but had an on/off button that I had to use a pen to work after awhile and the nav wheel got stuck and was a pain to use. So I got a Sansa View, which is cool if you do videos and pics, but for music and pcasts it kinda sucked because you couldn't fast forward or rewind quickly and the navigation overall was awkward. But after I killed the View by putting it through the washer, I found the 8gb Clip.

Man am I glad I did. As I said it sounds excellent, and you can do quick FF and Rew and it has a raised on/off switch and a volume control on the side, which is really convenient. And I can clip it to my gym shorts so it won't drop out of my pocket on an incline. The only slight negative is that that the included USB cable is really short--made for a laptop--but really so what it still charges, and also the battery life isn't quite as long as the View, but I only use it for maybe 4-5 hours at a time, so that's not critical to me. All in all, I would HIGHLY recommend this if you're a music addict like me.

Creative Labs Zen X-Fi 2 16 GB MP3 and Video Player with Touchscreen and Built-In Speaker (Black and Silver) Right now

The product itself is quite pleasing to the eye and the fact holds true for the packaging. The item comes to you in a plastic case that is quite sturdy and reusable speaking of top-shelf price point.

The XFi2 (this model) has 8GB's internal memory and can support additional external storage via a micro SD card. The package includes a set of Creative's quality ear buds and several promotional fly-outs like trials to Napster.

The player sports a multi-function 3.5mm audio jack that can also be connected via an adapter to stream A/V feeds right to your television. It has many audio settings that bring in-depth audio quality but, with that quality comes a bit of complexity and may take several tries to get the settings where you like.

The biggest let-down with this item is a fairly uncooperative touch screen. The player's unlocking mechanism, which is triggered by the selector button at the right of the player screen, prompts the user to press and slide a "lock" icon to the bottom of the viewing screen. Simple enough but, it feels as though you might have to press a bit too hard. These players are bargains but, they still cost a pretty penny. Menu navigation with this device can be tedium as well with the, seemingly unresponsive, characteristics of the PMP's touch screen.

I suspect that the player needs refinement programmatically to support a touch screen more efficiently. I would suspect that the issues are due to the user interface threading models and not the on-board RAM memory or processor; the music plays uninterrupted while engaging the touch screen at any point during playback.

This player thumps for the price and it is updated with newer drivers very easily so, with that in mind it gets four stars. The touch side of the device is a pain sometimes but, it is still manageable. The product is also manufactured and warrantied by an established, reputable company and not some fly by night import re-branding hole in the wall.

So, there you have it.Get more detail about Creative Labs Zen X-Fi 2 16 GB MP3 and Video Player with Touchscreen and Built-In Speaker (Black and Silver).

Sandisk Sansa Clip 4 GB MP3 Player (Black) This instant

I have had this MP3 player for about six months now, and have not found many problems. I like it a lot, and have actually washed it through the washing machine without loosing anything.
