Jwin Jx-Mp264 4Gb 1.8 Color Lcd Video Mp3 Player With Fm Radio Top Quality

So I didn't have very high expectations when I ordered my jWIN Jx-Mp264 4GB for about $25 (J&R via Amazon.com); at least it had decent storage size and Mac compatibility, which is increasingly harder to find in non-iPod mp3 players. I didn't need the player for video - really, watching anything other than the song info on the nicely clear but small screen would be enough to send me back to the eye doctor for another exam.

For basic - really basic - needs, the jWIN Jx-Mp264 4GB mostly delivers. The unit is fairly small - about the size of the first generation iPod nano - and nicely finished with a silver metal back and simple glossy black plastic front. It feels solid enough in the hand, too. Controls are an on-off switch on top, and on the front a vertical slide for function and volume selection, with right and left touch arrows for advancing tracks. Sound quality is very good for the price, with several equalization options. Battery life on a full charge is above average. Display is crisp and bright, with nice color.

That's the good. The bad is that there are no menu options for artist, album, playlists - the "Functions 101" of a good mp3 player. My 2GB cheapo Cobys have those options, which are no brainers to include for logical media navigation. The jWIN's tracks must be selected by forwarding through every one of them - not fun if all 4GBs are loaded with hundreds of tunes. The touch controls are quite sensitive and easy to jostle, but the center slider also locks within seconds and requires a swipe to free it. There are no options for changing the sensitivity, either, which would have been welcome. A first grade-level user's manual comes on a small CD-ROM; don't expect detailed help from it.

Again, by not expecting a whole lot of much from it, the jWIN Jx-Mp264 is a good sounding, acceptable but not stellar player. The lack of basic music navigation controls is a serious bummer (since jWIN's Web site doesn't even list this player at all, I don't hold out hope of a firmware upgrade to correct that glaring oversight). I just let the player go along like one mega playlist or very patiently scroll through the songs until I find the artist or tune I want. For the paltry amount that I paid for the jWIN, I can live with it - it sure beat shelling out another $100 for a similar Apple product. With better navigation, though, this jWIN would have been a budget-class winner, hands down.Get more detail about Jwin Jx-Mp264 4Gb 1.8 Color Lcd Video Mp3 Player With Fm Radio.

Sony 2 GB Walkman MP3 Player (Pink) Best Quality

I own a Ipod classic, nano, shuffle, sony bean player and now this walkman. After switching from sony players to apple products, i always missed the ease of dragging dropping files and using the player like a USB drive. Itunes slows down my PC and hate to wait for 30 seconds while it launches. I loved my Nano, thats why i bought a shuffle for running, but shuffle lacks of display and the pain of Itunes made me switch back to sony players for running.
This player is great, compact and solid. Easy to transfer files just by drag n drop, is a great flash drive to hold any kind of files. Sound quality is great and is in par with the shuffle. Love the Bass button that I can turn on or off depending on the type of song.
This cannot replace a Ipod nano but is way better replecement to Ipod shuffle.Get more detail about Sony 2 GB Walkman MP3 Player (Pink).

Nextar T30 4 GB Video MP3 Player with 3.5-Inch TFT LCD (Black) Buy Now

appearance - i like the way this looks, light, easy to use and big screen
durability - i rated this 3 star simply because the case is made of plastic
ease of use - i havent read the manual yet but i can easily navigate through the menus
sound quality - sound is ok for me, if you have another headset you can use the supplied adaptor to make it work for the nextar t30

the only complain i have for this item is the time it takes to convert the videos. a normal 2 hour movie takes around 20-25 minutes to convert it to avi files.
NOTE: avi file resolution should be 320x240 for it to work in nextar t30. if the file size is not 320x240, it will be recognized as an error file formatGet more detail about Nextar T30 4 GB Video MP3 Player with 3.5-Inch TFT LCD (Black).

Zune 16 GB Video MP3 Player (Black) Order Now

I first had a 4GB ipod nano (2nd generation) and I really loved it. It was great just for listening to music. My fiance decided to get a zune, and once he got it I was jealous :) it was alot cooler than my ipod, it could play videos, and had better games. I found a zune that was 8gb for the same price I had paid for my ipod. The zune is definietly better than the ipod, and even the zune software is pretty cool. It works with WMP, which I liked better than iTunes. The ONLY thing that I miss about my ipod was the ability to search for a song. With zune I cant search but because it is a touch pad it is quicker. Overall, I love it. Get more detail about Zune 16 GB Video MP3 Player (Black).

Spongebob Digital Player 1GB Decide Now

I got a pair of these for my 7 & 8 year old sons. within a day of starting to use it, one unit froze up and had to be reset. Otherwise it seems ok for the price and intended use by young kids. Putting music on was simple. Get more detail about Spongebob Digital Player 1GB.

Visual Land V-Clip 2 GB LCD/MP3/WMA/Voice Recorder/FM Radio (Pink) Right now

Same as the previous reviewer - I charged it fully, used it for a day, it died fully and will not take a charge again. It seems poorly designed in that it needs to be ON to CHARGE... so if yours dies completly it will not charge and becomes a poor paperclip.Get more detail about Visual Land V-Clip 2 GB LCD/MP3/WMA/Voice Recorder/FM Radio (Pink).

Lowest Price Apple iPod classic 160 GB Black (6th Generation) OLD MODEL

I do a lot of traveling and had been watching movies on a laptop when there was enough room. Finally decided to buy a portable devices with my extra per diem and researched them all. For price and hard drive space, the iPod classic is the best.

I watch movies on the plane, while working out, and purchased the accessory to plug it into a TV which makes the iPod into a DVR that can store over 7 days worth of movies.

Getting your DVDs or videos into the iPod format required the most amount of research and learning. There were several free and affordable programs out there, but I started getting more involved in audio and video and for the PC user I recommend [...] you can buy all their software which can do video conversion in almost any format, audio conversion, audio mixing & editing, video mixing and editing and it's a great mix of everything.Get more detail about Apple iPod classic 160 GB Black (6th Generation) OLD MODEL.

Low Price Creative Zen Stone 1 GB MP3 Player (Lime Green)

Wonderful product! Gave it to my mother for Christmas and she's crazy about it. The 1GB is perfect for a few CDs worth of music and is very easy to load. Her only problem with it is that if it gets cold (like if she left it in the car overnight during cold weather) it needs to warm up before it will turn on. Not a huge deal but something to be aware of in case it happens to you. Don't panic! Just wait for a while.Get more detail about Creative Zen Stone 1 GB MP3 Player (Lime Green).

Save Philips SA2446BT/37 4 GB Flash Audio MP3 Player with Bluetooth (Silver)

One and a half month after I bought this, I rue the day i bought this thing.
Sound quality is bad enough but It crashes, behaves erratically too often.
Bluetooth sound quality and range is pathetic.. connection gets lost too many times.
Just after a month, the power switch does not work. the software has to be repaired with the utility provided too often and still the problems persist.
Stay Away from this!

Cheapest RCA M4008 Opal 8GB Flash MP3 / MP4 (Video) Player with 1.5 inch Full Color OLED Display, Voice Recording and Built-in Microphone (Color: BLACK)

this was the first mp3 player I ever had. I am now getting a Sandisk Sansa Fuze 8gb to replace it.
I loved this thing though. One time in a car trip I laid down on the seat to take a nap and I accidentally cracked the screen. Yet it was fine for another year.
The battery life degraded though. it only seems to last for about 2 hours max now. Also I didn't like that you couldn't make playlists. The shuffle feature isn't very good either, it favors certain songs and plays in the same 'shuffled' order.Get more detail about RCA M4008 Opal 8GB Flash MP3 / MP4 (Video) Player with 1.5 inch Full Color OLED Display, Voice Recording and Built-in Microphone (Color: BLACK).

Cheap Creative Nomad Jukebox Zen Xtra 30 GB MP3 Player

Why do people drool over the ipod. It is a horrible design, IMO. :)

I have had my Zen since 2004 and it is still working just as nicely as the first day I bought it. Back then it was only about $100 too :)

I keep the cover that came with it on it and listen to my music both actively as well as, sitting in one place. It freezes once in a while, but I keep a needle stuck inside the case to hit the reset button with; very convenient!

I Love my Zen and would not even consider buying an overpriced, overly advertised iPod, as long as Creative makes such awesome MP3 players. Unfortunately, Creative is designing some of their new MP3 players after the iPod. I hope Creative keep making players in their own design also, for the customers who love it.

I can't believe I spent about $100 for this player and can sell it for about $100, 4 1/2 years later! :) But I wouldn't.Get more detail about Creative Nomad Jukebox Zen Xtra 30 GB MP3 Player.

Buying SanDisk Sansa e270 6 GB MP3 Player with SD Expansion Slot (Black)

I like this mp3 player, but since I have a crap ton with me at the moment, it's actually taken a backseat til I get home.

pros:
1) 6 gigs, screen capable of pictures mp3 and video
2) sd slot is a nice addition for music oversaturated people
3) at 40 bucks, even refurbished, it is a steal

cons:
1) clunkier than just about every other mp3 player I ever owned, which doesn't make it very versatile in my case.
2) doesn't necessarily deliver anymore features for the size (it's not that big, but for some reason I've always tended to buy small mp3 players)
3) it's not as asthetically pleasing, but I guess that's just being nitpickyGet more detail about SanDisk Sansa e270 6 GB MP3 Player with SD Expansion Slot (Black).

Buy Apple iPod 4 GB mini M9435LL/A (Pink) OLD MODEL

There is no doubt that this is a beautiful piece of workmanship. I have an Apple-obsessed friend that I have teased for years about his Apple fixation. So when I bought this secondhand beauty I emailed him my impression:

"Build quality and packaging are exceptional, truly first rate. Excellent tactility. Apple really has that part sorted out; I'm impressed.
Screen and CPU somewhat less magnificent."

Part of my teasing of this pleasant fellow was due to my experience with iTunes; I had given in to his constant evangelism about my trying it out. iTunes represented, for me, all that is wrong with software. Unjustifiably massive bloat, braindead 70MB updates, resource hogging, and treating the user like he has been lobotomized (or hypnotized by Apple). So no iTunes for me, no matter what. The solution?

"The OS is so-so and iTunes is the Root Of All Evil, so I installed
rockbox on it and am enjoying it immensely. I load
mp3/ogg/flac/whatever by copying across the USB connection.
(rockbox dot org)"

Rockbox lets me use that beautiful Apple hardware with an interface that puts /me/ in control. And I can play ogg, flac, Still, I find myself using the iPod less than a Sansa e260 that had an MSRP 3-4x less than the iPod. The Sansa has a color screen, better video playback (yes, you can play video on your mini with rockbox. It also has something that might seem trivial: a place to attach a lanyard.

Since I use the Sansa for mobile listening I might get one of those audio docks to use the iPod with my stereo system.Get more detail about Apple iPod 4 GB mini M9435LL/A (Pink) OLD MODEL.
