The price is right but I had to acquire a AMV Video Format converter from an internet search because the AMV Converter that came with the software did not work for me. It is difficult to use because the instructions are not very clear and very small. My player does not retain them and I have to put the keys in again every time I start it for example placing it for USB drag and drop of the converted AMV Youtube Videos into the Player - the memory for some reason does not keep the keys pushed other than the default settings. Once I figure it out the stored videos on the player played well but it is not very user friendly. The screen is small so the video pictures do not capture everything but that is to be expected for the price and acceptable for me. The Player seems to hold a lot of videos in it for its price and being 2 GB. I mainly bought it for watching videos because I have another MP3 player I use for music and audio books and radio that was reasonable price bought at my local food store. I've owned this product for 3 years. I use it everyday almost all day and it's 100% reliable. I use rechargeable AAA's and carry a spare with me, but when the battery life is nearly 25 hours on an Energizer NiMh 1000mAh battery, it's not really critical. Because it uses widely available AAA format batteries, there's no hard to find $40, $80, whatever price internal lithium-ion battery to replace after 6 months-1.5 years only by sending it to the factory. The MuVo rocks because of this!

When I'm not using it at the office, I'm using it while working on my vehicles, woodworking, or exercising. I've touched this thing with water, grease, oil, rust, paint, metal dust, saw dust covered hands and it has never let me down. The plastic case cleans up very easily as well.

Over 3 years I can't even tell you how many times I've dropped it onto a concrete garage floor from several feet in the air. It's a tough little piece of electronics!

My girlfriend had an Ipod and then an Ipod shuffle (the clippy one) and they have BOTH failed in the first 2 years I owned my far cheaper MuVo. I bought her a MuVo for Christmas in 2007 and she absolutely loves it and uses it everyday as well.

This product is awesome! It's light but durable. I love that it connects directly to my usb port...no cords to deal with. I love the ease of dragging and dropping my music. That saves a few steps. I like that it can function as both my mp3 player and my flash drive. Now if I find myself at the library, I know I'll have my flash drive on hand if I need it. It's also pretty user friendly once you get the hang of it. I really like this for the most part. The part I don't like is that it makes these noises when the music is stopped or just quiet. This player is AWESOME in several regards.

1. The ease of use is ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC. It is a plug and play device. Plug it into Windows XP, Vista, or higher PC and the computer knows how to deal with it, and gets the software needed from the ROM in the slider itself. No CD to misplace or lose. Would be PERFECT for someone like me that uses a Netbook without a CD or DVD drive

2. Porting MP3s over to the device could not be easier. Go to My Computer Log into the hard drive, directory. or thumb drive and select one or multiple directories click on the option "Send to" feature and choose the Lyra Slider as the destination, sit back and relax while the directories, files in those directories, and sub-directories are copied into the Lyra verbatim. I copied at least 90 hours of audio into the slider (14 hours of music, and five unabridged audio books. In other words I threw every MP3 file I had into it and only had it half full. the 2000 songs is a low estimate in my opinion.

3. The sound was amazing. The slider has the best and most comfortable ear buds I have ever used

4. The other reviewer is absolutely correct about the Lyra DESPERATELY needing the option to have multiple play lists. because when it starts it always starts playing the first song (unless you choose some files as favorites) If you turn off the player it goes back to the file you were playing. but multiple play lists would be VERY helpful.

5. Ease of use is a peach. If you want to delete a file for some reason you can do it from the player without the need to plug the player into the computer.

6 battery life is great! I have used it more than 2o hours in the last four days and have not seen a low battery indicator yet.

This player has three real down sides (the reason I only gave it four stars.

1. No multiple play lists.

2. I have not seen a randomiser or shuffle option in the four days I have used it.

3. The biggest downer for me is that every time you turn the devicce on it takes time you want to be listening to something to generate the current tracks in the device. Be careful when deciding what kind of video player to buy. On here there are many different vendors. They use many of the same pictures as each others, but the kicker is that they put words on their websites. The photos show a nice set up but after you order you see that the pictures weren't what you were getting. The accessories you see in the photos don't come like you seen. Some don't come with the product at all. This exact media/video player is not worth the money. I mean yeah it works kinda and is affordable but you are better off going with a real brand. Mach Speed Trio 4GB MP3 and MP4 Video Player (Black) Best Quality

Been using this for about 2 months. Use it for both music and video.
For music - battery life is great at 6-8 hours. Sound quality is good (though I am not an audiophile) , and you can select from a half a dozen equalizer options including creating your own. (Sound quality is mainly dependent on earbud quality.)
For video - screen size is large enough to enjoy movies or TV. The battery life is about 2 hours with video. When the battery gets too low, it shuts off the player without warning. That is annoying.
Has a built speaker - not very good, but most people will never use it very much, so speaker quality is a non issue for me.
Player takes micro SD cards. I have used 2GB and 8GB cards without a problem. I suggest you get an 8GB card. The cost is minimal and increases the memory tremendously. When attached to your computer, the player and the SD card look like hard drives and you can add/delete files to the player and SD card directly. On the player, the SD card files are listed separately from the files on the internal drive, so you do have to find you music/video files on the SD card (Not a big deal).
I covered my screen with a screen protector as there are no cases around that will fit this player. The back side is shiny (chromed) metal and can also get scratched (I don't care).
Have not used other features much - Radio, Ebook, Stopwatch, Photo.
