Small, lightweight, great battery life, great sound quality. Most of all, you can't beat Itunes right now for managing music, podcasts, ITunes University, audiobooks, etc, which is the reason I'm using an IPOD. For some (dumb) reason Apple decided to add a camera in the 5th generation model, unfortunate since I couldn't bring it to work! 4th generation is the optimal model in this line for that reason. My only complaint: the clickwheel, which I realize is trendy but it has at least two inconveniences: 1) it is hard to make small volume adjustments, especially when it's in your pocket, and 2) it is hard to rewind just a little bit (like if you miss part of an audiobook) -- if you don't hit just right, you rewind the whole thing. This is where I think other mp3 players (like sony's) have an advantage from a 'practical' point of view -- but this requires more 'buttons'-- something apple is adverse to so they often choose fashion over functionality, unfortunately.Get more detail about Apple iPod nano 8 GB Green (4th Generation) [Previous Model].

Purchase Pre-Owned 1GB iPod Nano - Black (1st Generation)
I bought this item about 6 months ago , it was clean , seriel number was missing form the back and the apple sign was also not there. Since it is refurb may be thats why , so it worked for a little while but then the battey wouldn't keep the charge , and it would turn off by its self during listning . The earphones that came with it were also fake cheap plastic made . I would recommend to get a new one that has a warrenty from the apple store . Sure you pay the price but it is guarenteed to work.Get more detail about Pre-Owned 1GB iPod Nano - Black (1st Generation).

Order gr8er1 8GB MP3/MP4 Player Touch Screen PDA Media
The Newest Best gr8er1 8GB mp3 mp4 Player PDA is a ONE-OF-A-KIND. I initially thought it would be OK, but it really changed my view on MP3/MP4 players.First of all, the music playback is very impressive for a price of $75.It allows smooth playback with intense settings. The Video Playback is extremely brilliant and very clear. The processor on this PDA is very fast, allowing for skipping in the video. The coversion disc has a converter for videos that is a little slow when coverting .mp4 videos. The Photos are aligned in tiles, allowing view for them. The recorder allows for quick ideas to be recorded. The Games are not so great, but they can be really entertaining whenever bored. It has a couple of applications:Stopwatch and a notebook. The Stopwatch is very quick and the notebook is.........OK. The System Settings allow for adjusting time, language, display, calibration, and Upgrading. The Explorer allows for deleting files inside the PDA. The Ebook fuction allows for .txt files to be read. The 2 MP Camera is alright for a 2 MP, taking clear pictures and recording videos. The Radio fuction can only be initialized by having 3.5 MM earphones in the socket. I have not tried the PC Camera yet,but I will keep you up to date. The Calendar is a very good app that keeps me on track. The Calculator is very quick and absolute. Using this PDA,you MUST know what you are doing or you will not like it. Overall, since I am sort of tech-savvy,I can give this PDA a rating of 4 stars.Get more detail about gr8er1 8GB MP3/MP4 Player Touch Screen PDA Media.

Coby MP300-1G MP3 Player with 1 GB Flash Memory, USB Drive and LCD - Black Decide Now
My first MP3 player was a MuVo which lasted about 3 years before the off-on button wore out. This Coby is 1/3 the price with a 4x bigger drive - cool! I've had the Coby a month with no problems so far. The ear buds were not the best but I added an $8 pair of Panasonics with over-the-ear clips and it sounds great. I listen while driving a big International so it has to overcome engine and road noise. My Coby came with an offer for 50 free MP3 downloads and a free eBook from [...].Get more detail about Coby MP300-1G MP3 Player with 1 GB Flash Memory, USB Drive and LCD - Black.

RCA M4102 2 GB Digital Media Player/FM Radio with Voice Recording (Silver) Right now
This mp3 player is great for the price. It's very simple to load songs, easy to use, and sounds good. The video and picture quality is poor, but you can't really expect much for only paying $40. If you want an easy to use mp3 player for mostly music, this one is great. If you want the best in quality for pictures and video, go another route. It also plays radio and allows you to record songs off the radio and store them to your music folder. I bought this for my niece as a gift and am considering one for myself now.Get more detail about RCA M4102 2 GB Digital Media Player/FM Radio with Voice Recording (Silver).

Lowest Price Coby 4 GB Flash MP3 Player with 2.4-Inch Color LCD, FM and Touch Pad Control (Black)
I always believe at some point the quality of Chinese products can be trusted, and when that happens their products would be better than those expensive ones of the same kind. I can't say for other models of Copy MP3 players. But for the one I have now, I can say that it passes the point already. It has not only a nice looking with all functions operational, but also more features that the expensive popular models do not have, such as ipod nano. For example, ipod MP3 players can only play video or movies in mpeg4 formats. But this one can play video files in rm, rmbv, avi, and flv formats. You just download movies or videos from internet to the player. It will play. No need of conversion or any extra work! It costs less than 1/3 of those expensive popular models. It would be perfect if it has a larger screen, such as 3".Get more detail about Coby 4 GB Flash MP3 Player with 2.4-Inch Color LCD, FM and Touch Pad Control (Black).

Low Price Creative Zen 8 GB Portable Media Player (Black)
I've always been a big creative fan. The only problem I really have with this is it doesn't let me organize folders and such the way that I want to. For instance, on my computer, I have a Johnny Cash folder with songs from different albums in the same folder. On the zen, I have 4 Johnny Cash selections to choose from rather than just clicking "Johnny Cash" and seeing the songs I have. For instance:
Johnny Cash
Johnny Cash; June Carter
Johnny Cash; Kris Kristofferson
Johnny Cash; U2
What the hell? Why can't I just throw all of the songs together? So I think I now have to edit the properties in each and every song on this thing and make sure it says they're all on the same album and all by JUST that artist (take out any additional artists credited for that song) to have them show up in the same folder. *sigh*Get more detail about Creative Zen 8 GB Portable Media Player (Black).

Save Apple iPod shuffle 1 GB Bright Blue (2nd Generation) OLD MODEL
What is there to say about the iPod shuffle that hasn't already been said in the other 600+ reviews?
So here are the five things *I* like best about it:
It's small and lightweight and goes right into my shirt pocket.
It's inexpensive so if i lose or break it or if it is stolen no big deal.
I can use the controls without looking at it.
It holds just the right amount of music.
Sand doesn't mess it up at the beach.
The charge lasts a long time.
Okay, so that's six.
Anyway, I've had my shuffle for 2 1/2 years and I still love it.Get more detail about Apple iPod shuffle 1 GB Bright Blue (2nd Generation) OLD MODEL.

Discount Apple iPod 4 GB mini M9160LL/A (Silver) OLD MODEL
There is no doubt that this is a beautiful piece of workmanship. I have an Apple-obsessed friend that I have teased for years about his Apple fixation. So when I bought this secondhand beauty I emailed him my impression:
"Build quality and packaging are exceptional, truly first rate. Excellent tactility. Apple really has that part sorted out; I'm impressed.
Screen and CPU somewhat less magnificent."
Part of my teasing of this pleasant fellow was due to my experience with iTunes; I had given in to his constant evangelism about my trying it out. iTunes represented, for me, all that is wrong with software. Unjustifiably massive bloat, braindead 70MB updates, resource hogging, and treating the user like he has been lobotomized (or hypnotized by Apple). So no iTunes for me, no matter what. The solution?
"The OS is so-so and iTunes is the Root Of All Evil, so I installed
rockbox on it and am enjoying it immensely. I load
mp3/ogg/flac/whatever by copying across the USB connection.
(rockbox dot org)"
Rockbox lets me use that beautiful Apple hardware with an interface that puts /me/ in control. And I can play ogg, flac, Still, I find myself using the iPod less than a Sansa e260 that had an MSRP 3-4x less than the iPod. The Sansa has a color screen, better video playback (yes, you can play video on your mini with rockbox. It also has something that might seem trivial: a place to attach a lanyard.
Since I use the Sansa for mobile listening I might get one of those audio docks to use the iPod with my stereo system.Get more detail about Apple iPod 4 GB mini M9160LL/A (Silver) OLD MODEL.

Buying Latte iPearl 8 GB Video MP3 Player with Built-In FM Transmitter (Black)
I have been pleasantly surprised by this product. The negative points I have read in some other reviews have turned out to be the person's fault and not the device. For example one person complained that the FM transmitter was weak, however, I've learned that it was probably because the person didn't turn the volume up on the player which strengthens the signal. This player is definitely something that you need to play with and experiment. I love it's sleek design and crisp, vibrant display. My absolute favorite feature is the built-in FM transmitter. I can play my songs through my home stereo system, car radio, etc. without any extra equipment. It's like having your own radio station! All-in-all this is a great product for the money! (Tip: If the player runs completely out of power, you may need to re-set it in order for it to accept a charge)Get more detail about Latte iPearl 8 GB Video MP3 Player with Built-In FM Transmitter (Black).

Buy Griffin TUNE CENTER IPOD HOME MEDIA CENTER
Works as advertised. Connected to my Sony Bravia LCD TV and iPod now plays through the TV or the attached Sony home theater system. Simple plug and play setup. It puts an iPod style intuitive interface on the TV to allow you to select playlist, artists, etc. from across the room using the supplied remote. Some have reported issues with the remote, but it works just fine for me. (you do need to aim remote at the eye on front of dock) After about 10 minutes, the TV screen will go to a power saving dim-display mode. The iPod charges up while in the dock.
The dock also has an ethernet jack to connect to your home network. So if you have internet access, you can play net-cast "radio" stations. I have not tried this feature, though.
The remarkable bargain price of this unit makes it a better choice than the pricey Sony home theater iPod dock. If you have a non-Sony home theater or just a TV, this is the way to go to add iPod to your system. Purchase Cowon O2 32 GB Video MP3 Player (Black)
After researching all mp3 players I asked for a cowon 02 for Christmas..and that's what I got. Several times I was queried "sure you don't want an IPOD?" Nope I want the Cowon!
Well on Christmas, my sister got an IPOD, my niece got a Sansa and I got the Cowon. We all got them started and after a few glitches the Sansa and Ipod are downloading and working by Christmas afternoon. Here I am with my well researched "better" mp3 player and I got nothing - nothing on Christmas -nothing on Saturday - nothing on Sunday. Everybody is trying to make the Cowon download a book....we even resorted to reading the manual...no luck. We finally got music downloaded but just couldn't load a book.
...Guess what? WMA is NOT supported on the Cowon...huh? In all the materials I read in making my decision, it says WMA is supported. NOPE its not....
Well I feel like an idiot...I'm sending it back and getting the Sansa.

Order Cowon iAUDIO 9 8 GB MP3 Player (Black)
the iAudio 9 beats the best MP3 players by at least 2x in the audio quality and the slim look and light weight touch. however its weakness is the battery.
1. significant improvement of audio quality by addition of 30 pre-set equalizer settings, from rock to jazz, club to rap. while user can select the equalizer spectrum and create their own equalizers, COWON has pre-created 10 audio settings based on generic "psycho-acoustic" preferences.
2. light weight and even more handy. iAudio 9 is slim, about 40 gram (1.4 ounces), extremely light but very comfortable to carry and manage. definitely great for travel.
3. better functional keys and user interface. iAudio 9 applies the same COWON concept of functionality. user does not need to relearn new skills. it significantly improves on its manageability. the function keys are easier to see. user can select the degree of "sensitiveness" or "responsiveness" of the function keys. some reviewers stated that COWON's iAudio function key design "needs some learning to adjust to". this is subjective. i personally find the function key design easy to understand and did not need any "training" or reading of the owner's manual to use the device.
two major areas need improvement;
1. battery power. battery is really WEAK. playing WMA music file setting volume at 2/3 to max, COWON runs at most 8 hours even COWON advertises the device as 29 hours. i9 is really weak in battery compared with i7 which realistically runs about 40 hours non stop (COWON advertises i7 as 60 hours). this makes recharging a daily necessity for i9 whereas for i7, you can go for weeks without need for recharging. long distance international traveler may do better to go with i7 than i9 due to the battery issue.
2. USB cable and USB jack. to conform to the slim design, iAudio 9 uses a tiny USB input jack, smaller than your generic USB jack for external hard drive or digital camera. user has to carry the special USB cable when travel. COWON can provide an adapter so that the device can be plucked into a conventional USB cable.
