Save Mintpad 4GB WiFi PDA Portable Media Player

This is an interesting device. I will list the pros and cons as I see them:

Pros

- small and pocketable
- decent battery life with a removable battery.
- Handles plenty of formats. Documentation is not accurate. For example, it will play 320x240 flv and 3gp video as well as the listed wmv, avi, and mp4. You must change the file extension to ".avi" (or one of the other recognized formats) to get the Mintpad filesystem to recognize the file, but it will play flawlessly.
- It has very, very, good sound. The audio capabilities of the device are its best feature.
- It is (somewhat) extensible. To the extent that you can find programs that work. For example, I use Freda ebook reader on it. This is a free ebook reader that does a good job with TXT and EPUB files. Freda works better than the included text-only reader.
- It has Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE) on it. This is normally not a good thing, but in this case it is, since the Mintpad browser is useless.
- The OLED screen is nice and bright.
- It has a decent camera (video and still)
- It has the ability to add memory via microSD cards. I have used 16GB without trouble.
- It has a suspend mode (not well documented), which allows for a very quick resume (about 2 seconds) from suspend. Suspend does use a small amount of memory, but It is fine for a daily charging schedule. You need to use the lock button while it is suspended, to prevent accidental resumes.
- It has .Net installed on it. This allows some (I repeat some) Pocket PC programs to work on it. I put a text editor a pdf reader, and an Epub reader on it or example. I haven't tried Firefox yet.

Cons

- While small, it is clunky. I would prefer a device with a little more surface area and less thickness.
- It doesn't have an FM radio, which is standard on many PMP's now.
- It doesn't allow for line-in recording (only from the mic). This is a handy feature.
- It runs Wincows CE (Pocket PC) OS. Which is obsolete essentially.
- You need the stylus to operate it. The onscreen keys are too small for fingers.
- The microSD card slot is behind the battery, requiring shutdown and battery removal to change external memory cards.
- The camera button is on the wrong side. A small thing, but GOOD GOD people. This is standard!
- It uses a non-standard USB connector (one of which comes with it). Again, STANDARDS PEOPLE! This is particularly annoying, since third-party charging is not as handy. You must carry your USB cable around with the device essentially.
- It's white. I see Korea has a black version, but I haven't seen it available at Amazon yet.
- Amazon sells it right now for $30 more than JetAudio (where it ships from anyway.) This is a lot to pay for the convenience of Amazon, but I did it anyway for some reason.
- It doesn't use ActiveSync, but instead uses Sapphire (a Mintpass Active X program). This is unfortunate, since you cannot install Pocket PC programs which require Active Sync.

For those who want to use the memo feature, it works. I don't really write much and prefer a keypad, but it does work very well. In fact, everything works, except the web browser is really, really bad.

I would buy it again, but it won't ever be my favorite PMP. For pure audio/video, there are better devices. But, all in all, it is a good little device for a first release. The next-generation will likely use Android, which will be cool, but will get too large to be a PMP and to fit in my pocket.

Discount Dell DJ 20GB Gen 2 Digital Jukebox MP3 Player

Everyone Read This if for your CAR!!!!

Ever get up early in the morning, cold outside, hop in your car and turn on radio or CD and drive away? Most cars can do that no problem. What about getting back in your car after a hot summer day at the pool? Radio and CD player still work? Probably!

This player cannot be left in your car like your radio, even if not in sun. If weather is below 50 or above 75 degrees, your Dell DJ will NOT WORK! It will cut off as soon as you try to turn it on. And you may ride your whole trip without any music from this piece of crap DELL mp3 player.

It often has problems and has to rebuild library and will not allow you to use it. It often needs to be reset. Battery life is so low that it needs to stay on the charger.

Imagin spending 45min in a store and coming out on a hot summer day and your car stereo works but your mp3 player wont until temperate is between 50 and 75 degrees. Thats a dell

NOTE: Ive had it tell me "operating temperature too high" and cut off at 71 degrees before.

It's also big...like carrying around a refrigeratorGet more detail about Dell DJ 20GB Gen 2 Digital Jukebox MP3 Player.

Cheapest Sony 8 GB Walkman Video MP3 Player (Pink)

It's simple - if you want the best sound of all time, buy this. I've played music on dozens of MP3 players, including the iPod (snore), the latest Samsung P3, the Cowon S9, the amazing-sounding previous generation iRivers, etc. - and I come back to this one every time. No other player can render this level of fidelity, with this full a sound, with this rich and well-rounded a bass. My litmus test is to 1) play a superb yet dynamically demanding recording (e.g., disc 2 of Hybrid's Soundsystem 01 - a very dense and complex techno recording that requires a good player to do justice to all of the detail), 2) with superb buds (Shure SE530), and 3) without EQ or FX of any kind. Only the Sony is able to do full justice without any sound augmentation. And it does it time and time again, on any kind of music you throw at it. Yes, i have some nits - the inability to change the speed at which one can fast-forward through a long piece key among them. But ultimately what I want from an MP3 player is awesome sound and this delivers it in spades. Also, the physical construction is simply excellent - it is wonderfully slim, yet dense thanks to the significant steel component. The dedicated volume rocker is perfect. Finally, battery life is unreal. The accompanying earbuds are also very good but definitely toast up the bass a lot -- too much so in my view.

(Note -- the more currently available and similar-looking NWZ438F does not deliver as good sound as this one - as I found to my disappointment. Very curious if the new touch-screen Sony players have the same sound circuitry as this one - if so, I'll get in line once prices come down a bit.)Get more detail about Sony 8 GB Walkman Video MP3 Player (Pink).

Cheap Sony 4 GB Walkman Video MP3 Player (Pink)

I had previously purchased a SanDisk MP3 player that I was totally unhappy with. I went to Best Buy and saw this and decided to buy it. I did not want an iPod, and I trusted the Sony brand name. And, yes, the pink color put it over the top for me!

I am in no way a "teckie," but just a few minutes of browsing Media Player and I was uploading music and sync'ing to the device. What I really appreciate about the Sony Walkman is that it works as it should and as it was designed to do. There are many times when I purchase electronics only to find there are missed steps in the directions and I'm left with a gadget I can't operate right away unless I call customer service or contact some friends. Not so with the Walkman. I read the guide that came with the device, browsed Media Player a couple times, and now I feel like an old pro!

I did find the ear buds a little uncomfortable at first, but I truly appreciated that Sony includes 3 different sizes of the part that actually inserts into the ear. I discovered the smallest insert was a much more comfortable fit. That was a nice touch - a lot of manufacturors would have made the consumer purchase those as extra.

At first I thought the buttons would be difficult to push, as they are small, but I find them easy to find even while the device is in my pocket and I'm on my early morning walk. No fumbling around trying to find something!

My only disappointment was that device could only be recharged via computer USB port. I do travel and would like to take this along, but I am not in the habit of lugging along a laptop. However, I have just discovered that Sony now manufactures an AC adaptor for this device! I will definitely be purchasing that today, and my little MP3 world will be complete for now.Get more detail about Sony 4 GB Walkman Video MP3 Player (Pink).

Purchase Dell DJ 20 20GB Gen 2 Digital Jukebox MP3 Player (Silver)

This pretty device was made in 2005. Came without software and it took me hours to find the drive on-line. The computer does not see the device and when it finally "found it" I was told it was disconnected.

They should not be selling an old device that has no support.

Shop For 2GB DIGITAL MP4 PLAYER

GUYS...............if you had a bad experience with your MP3 or MP4 player why not return it or check w/seller for an exchange.

Question #1: Did it have warranty if so how many days or months?
Question #2: Was your item Brand NEW or REFURBISHED?
Question #3: You get what you pay for! ESPECIALLY if it's refurbished.
Question #4: Why would you buy a REFURBISHED ELECTRONIC product!

I personally sell these items, and ALL my Products are BRAND NEW and come with a 1YR FACTORY WARRANTY. I never had a problem selling these MP3 & MP4 players. I will emit the ear phones are not the best, but you don't pay for the ear phones, you pay for the MEDIA PLAYER. Now I don't recommend anything refurbished. WHY PAY for an item that has a 30 day warranty when for a few dollars more you can get a new one, with a 1yr warranty. It just makes sense.

Discount Pre-Owned 2GB iPod Nano - Black (1st Generation)

I love my iPod nano, or should i say "loved!" I had an iPod nano, the first generation for many years. Recently it just stopped working. I dont know what happened but all of a sudden when i went to turn it on, a black screen with a gray apple apeared then it all shut off. I tried to charge it, i gave it a while, then i pluged it in again, nothing else happened. I didnt try to get it repaired because i wanted an iPod touch now anyway, and the cost to send it in, get it repaired and get it back cost over one-hundred dollars, and may get repaired or not. other than that fact the ipod is great, it has three games pre-loaded onto it, it has lots of room for songs (four GB) and also has exras such as timers and such. It really is a great product. Although some of the latest models of iPods that came out have much more to offer. If you are considering getting one used, make sure it is working proper and go for it. You wont regret it!Get more detail about Pre-Owned 2GB iPod Nano - Black (1st Generation).

Cheapest Apple iPod nano 1 GB White (1st Generation) OLD MODEL

I take my ipod everywhere - for audiobooks, self hypnosis tracks to use at the acupuncturist's, podcasts, language lessons and Oh Yes! Music.

I have only one complaint (which is why I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars) - some other brands have an audio recorder and I sure wish this one had one! I will probably end up buying another brand of mp3 someday just for that. In fact, I have bought some cheapo mp3 recorders just for that - but they were too junky to bother with. And I don't really trust non-mac-compatible ones.

A recorder built in would fill a real need.Get more detail about Apple iPod nano 1 GB White (1st Generation) OLD MODEL.
