I purchased a Sansa Clip+ 4GB player. After two weeks of occasional use (not even enough to have to recharge the battery a second time) the back fell off of one of the earbuds. (The back may have been broken from the outset, but the foam "sock" on the earbud partially holds the back on, so I can't tell for certain.)
In any event, I contacted Sansa to ask for a replacement under their written 1-year warranty, which states:
"SanDisk warrants to the end user, that this product, excluding content and or software supplied with or on the product, will be free from material defects in manufacture, will conform to SanDisk's published product specifications and be fit for normal use during the Warranty Period specified in the table commencing on the date of purchase provided that the product is legally placed on the market..." The Warranty Period in the referenced table is 1 year.
The Sansa representative told me that Sansa does not replace earbuds under their warranty, although nowhere in their extensive warranty language are earbuds (or accessories in general) excluded. The rep suggested that I go out and buy my own replacement set of earbuds.
I guess Sansa thinks that "fit for normal use" means their products work for two weeks before they fall apart.
The most upsetting thing is not the cost of a new set of earbuds, but the cavalier way in which Sansa ignores their own written warranty. I have previously owned several other Sansa products, but now I've lost faith in the Sansa brand based on this unfortunate experience.Get more detail about Clip Plus 4 GB MP3 Player (Blue).
Blue color looks very cool on most of all the devices. I also like to have MP 3 player of blue color very much and I have searched a lot for it but can not find it.
