I had the Archos 604 for 2 years, it fell out of my pocket one day and I got a recovery 2 error and it never worked again. You can send it to Archos and they will fix it for a nominal fee-which is unknown until you receive the bill.
I purchased this Archos 604 Wifi because we just recently purchased a wireless router and was very excited about this product except the internet is so slow and you cannot get to sites that you want to visit-to check email or networking sites. I had a problem with it one day, it just was stuck on the Archos screen. I contacted them and they told me to send it and they would fix it under warranty, so I sent it in, and 15 days later or more it came back. I was so excited that I loaded it all up with movies, watched 3 and started #4. While I was watching the 4th movie, which mind you was in less than a week the screen froze. I opened it up to reset it and I get a recovery 2 error. I call the company and the best that they can do for me is pay for the shipping. I am going on vacation and want this to bring with me and it won't be in ready in time.
